Agility Foundation Course
In the Agility Foundation Class we first teach each obstacle separately to develop confidence and controlled execution.
The dogs learn to negotiate each obstacle being called, led on the left and right hand side as well as being directed from behind.
Your dog will learn to negotiate:
- Jumps
- Tunnel
- A-Frame
- Seesaw
- Weave
After having learned the obstacles we will put them together into simple sequences. We work on basic stays and send away's to teach your dog to work ahead of you confidently. Each contact obstacle is taught low first to ensure controlled dismounting and stopping on each contact zone.
The training is initially carried out on a short or long lead to ensure the dogs don't learn to run away and to have control as well as being able to help the dog if necessary.
Each dog will then gradually work more and more off lead depending on the amount of control the handler has over his dog. We take a maximum of six dogs in each class to ensure individual attention and help with each obstacle or sequence. Each lesson lasts an hour. The 6 week course fee is £65.
Methods:
The approach we promote is motivating the dog and building an affectionate relationship between the dog and its owner. We use the most advanced, scientifically proven, kind and effective, training, handling, communication techniques such as Lure- Reward and Clicker Training.
We start new courses in 6-week intervals. Please contact us for the next course dates.

| Agility Run Course
The Agility Run Course follows the Foundation class and teaches you and your dog to negotiate longer sequences and to be able to run a little course at the end of the course.
You will learn how to turn with your dog, how and when to change the sides as well as becoming more aware of how your body movements influence your dog’s movement. The dogs will learn to work ahead to a target (helping him to run ahead confidently) as well as to negotiate the contact elements off the lead.
These contacts will then be practiced with more and more speed but still ensuring correct stopping or touching the contact for maximum control. We will also work on basic weave entrances to enable the dog to take the weave within a sequence.
Again we work the dogs on both sides as well as from ahead and behind. Also we improve the stays, increase the distractions and distances which will become more important the faster your dog gets.
In the Agility Run Class we start teaching simple sequences and proceed with more complicated ones. The dogs learn to negotiate the sequences of obstacles being called, led on the left and right hand side as well as being directed from behind.
Your dog will learn to negotiate:
