Group Courses

Our methods

The approach we promote is the use of positive reinforcement training. We motivate the puppies, dogs through exquisite communication, reward them by affection, food, play and build a loving relationship between man and his best friend.
We teach and coach you the owner the skills that you can train your dog. We create a relaxed, joyful learning environment to optimise your and your puppy's or dog's learning experiences. We welcome all Family Members, that your puppy or dog learns to respond to Everyone in the Family. We look forward to meeting you!

What to bring

When attending a course, your dog should preferably wear a harness or a plain collar, please no choke collars! We ask that you bring some of the dog's normal food as well as some tasty treats for rewards. Recommended treats are cheese or good value treats with more than 30% meat content. If your dog likes toys, bring their favorite toy with you.
Also bring the dog's bed or a blanket with you to help the dog relax and settle in the class.

Recall & loose lead training

At Happy Pets we understand how embarrassing it can be when your dog refuses to come when called, especially on walks around people and other dogs. Not only is this dangerous, but it can make you scared to take your dog off the lead, which leads to unhappy and stressful walks. Our recall class is the perfect course for you! Over six weeks we will guide you through various recall exercises, including:
  • Recalls from stay positions
  • Recalls from sniffing positions
  • Recalls from dogs and people
  • Lead walk
  • Distant sit
We will give you peace of mind, showing you how to communicate with your dog even in an environment full of distractions. Each lesson lasts an hour, and the course fee is  just £79.50 for a 6 week course.
Suitable for:
These classes are suitable for dogs that have either successfully completed the preceding puppy classes or dog training classes, or for owners new to our courses, who want to improve their dogs' recalls and walking on a loose lead.

Children are most welcome to accompany their parents but please make sure it is always only one person training the dog at a time to avoid confusion.

There will be a maximum of 5 dogs in each class to ensure quality of training and socialisation.
