Content:
In these sessions we will show and explain you how to teach your puppy to become the perfect companion. We will teach you to read and understand your puppy's body language and how to communicate with your puppy in a good way. We will explain how to socialise and habituate your puppy to enable them to become well balanced and confident dogs.
With our small class sizes there is enough time to discuss individual problems and we will give you advice on how to deal with the puppy's (mis-)behaviours such as biting, mouthing, chewing, housetraining, jumping up at people, etc.
Exercises:
In the six week course we will explain and guide you and your puppy through the basic exercises:
- Walking on the lead
- Coming when called
- Greeting people without jumping up
- Down
- Stay
- Leaving food
- Getting used to handling, grooming and Vet treatments
- To play with their owners
- To play fair with other puppies
- To settle and calm down after an exciting play or exercise
In addition to these exercises and controlled play rounds we will also help you to understand and overcome some of the problem behaviours with your puppy such as mouthing, house training, etc.
Methods:
The approach we promote is motivating the puppy and building an affectionate relationship between the puppy and its owner. We use the most advanced, scientifically proven, kind and effective, training, handling, communication techniques such as Lure- Reward, Bridge-Target-Barrier Training, and Clicker Training.
Suitable for:
These classes are suitable for puppies 2-5 months old (when the vaccinations are completed) and all their owners.
Children are most welcome to accompany their parents.
There will be a maximum of 6 puppies in each class to ensure quality of training and socialisation
